Available Field Types

FoxForm organizes screen types into two groups: Flow Screens (which control form structure) and Question Screens (which collect data). Below is a complete reference for every type available in the builder.

Flow Screens

Welcome

The intro screen that starts your form. It has a Title, an optional Description, and a Button text field. Use it to set context, explain what the form is about, and motivate respondents to begin. Every form should start with a Welcome screen.

End

The closing screen shown after a respondent submits the form. Configure a Title, Description, optional Media (image or video embed), a Show button toggle, and Social links to send people to your website or social profiles after completing the form.

Question Screens

Short Text

A single-line text input. Best for short answers like names, job titles, or city names. Configure the Question, Description, Placeholder, and mark it as Required if needed.

Long Text

A multi-line text area for open-ended answers. Use it when you need detailed feedback, comments, or descriptions.

Number

A numeric-only input field. Ideal for quantities, ages, budgets, or any response that must be a number.

Email

An email address input with format validation (checks for @ and domain). Use it to capture leads or contact details. The default placeholder is name@example.com.

Phone

A phone number input field. Great for collecting WhatsApp or contact numbers. Accepts national and international formats.

Dropdown

Presents a list of options in a drop-down menu — respondents can pick exactly one. Use it when you have many choices and want to save screen space.

Checkboxes

Allows respondents to select multiple options from a list. Use it for multi-select scenarios like "Which tools do you use?"

Multiple Choice

Presents options as large, clickable buttons — respondents pick one. Ideal for key qualifying questions where clarity matters.

Yes/No

A binary choice input with two large buttons (Yes / No). Perfect for quick filters or qualification questions.

Website URL

A URL input field with basic format validation. Use it to collect website addresses or portfolio links.

Coming Soon

The following field types are listed in the builder but are not yet available:

  • Rating — Star-based rating input
  • Opinion Scale — Numeric scale (e.g., 1–10)
  • Level / Slider — Interactive slider with min/max values and labels
  • Date — Date picker input
  • File Upload — Upload files or images

Configuring Any Field

Every question screen has three tabs in the right panel:

  • Component — Set the question text, description, button text, placeholder, and toggle Required on/off
  • Style — Customize the background (theme, image, or colors), typography, button colors, text color, and layout alignment for this specific screen
  • Logic — Set navigation behavior: enable auto-advance or choose which screen to go to after the respondent answers

To mark a field as required, open the Component tab and toggle the Required switch on. Required fields show a red asterisk (*) in the left panel and prevent the respondent from advancing without answering.
