  • Description: Optional notes about the zone
  • Records Count: Number of DNS records in this zone
  • Requests: DNS queries in selected period
  • Status: Active or Inactive
  • Actions: Edit or delete zone

Creating a DNS Zone

Click "Create DNS zone" to set up a new domain.

Zone Name

Enter your domain name with TLD extension:

Description (optional)

Add notes to help identify this zone.

Default TTL

Time To Live in seconds. Default: 1 hour (3600).

  • Lower TTL (300-900): Faster updates, more DNS queries
  • Higher TTL (3600-86400): Better performance, slower updates

After Creating a Zone

  1. Name servers will be automatically assigned to your zone
  2. Update your domain name servers with your registrar
  3. Add DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, etc.)
  4. DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours globally

Managing DNS Records

After creating a zone, click the edit icon to:

  • Add DNS records
  • Modify existing records
  • Delete records
  • View zone statistics

Deleting a Zone

Click the delete icon to remove a zone. This will delete all DNS records, stop DNS resolution, and cannot be undone.

Warning: Only delete zones you no longer use. Domain will become unreachable.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive descriptions for easy identification
  • Keep TTL at default (3600) unless you need frequent updates
  • Always have backup of important DNS records
  • Update name servers at registrar after creating zone
