Publishing and Managing Your Forms

Understanding the form lifecycle helps you control when respondents can access your form and what they see.

Draft vs. Published

Draft forms exist only in your builder — no one can access them via a public URL. A form is in draft status when it has never been published, or when you've unpublished it after a previous live period.

Published forms are live and accessible to anyone with the link. The status badge next to the form name in the builder shows Published in green when the form is active.

How to Publish a Form

  1. Open your form in the builder.
  2. Click Save (top-right) to save your latest changes.
  3. Click Share (top-right) — a dialog appears showing Form Published! with your shareable link.
  4. Copy the link and share it with your audience.

If the form was already published, clicking Share will show the current shareable link without re-publishing.

Unpublished Edits

If you make changes to a Published form and click Save, the form remains live with the previous version while your new edits are saved but not yet visible to respondents. The builder will indicate there are unpublished edits.

To push those edits live, click Save again and the updated version will be published immediately.

How to Unpublish a Form

To take your form offline without deleting it, open the form and look for the unpublish option. Once unpublished, the public URL will no longer show the form. Your responses and settings are preserved.

There are two ways to get your form's public link:

  • Click Share (top-right in the builder) — the shareable link is shown in the dialog with a Copy button.
  • In the Responses view, click Copy Link from the header.

Your public link follows the format: https://forms.foxform.app/your-form-slug

You can also customize your slug in SettingsForm URL.

Duplicating a Form

To duplicate a form, go to the Forms list page and click the (three-dot) menu next to the form. Currently, the available options are Edit, View responses, and Delete. A duplicate option is not yet listed — this feature may be coming soon.

Deleting a Form

  1. From the Forms page, click the menu next to the form.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Note: Deleting a form permanently removes it and all its responses. This action cannot be undone.
