Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your MamuteCloud account.
When 2FA is enabled, every login will require not only your password, but also a 6-digit verification code generated by an authentication app or sent via SMS.
Why enable 2FA?
- Protects your account from unauthorized access
- Adds a second verification step even if your password is compromised
- Strongly recommended for all team members with admin permissions
- Earn +$5 bonus credit for enabling 2FA on your account
1. Enabling 2FA Using an Authenticator App
MamuteCloud supports apps such as Google Authenticator, Authy, and others.
Steps:
- Go to Account Settings > Password & Security.
- In the Authenticator App section, click Setup.
- Download an authenticator app on your phone.
- Scan the QR code in the modal using your app. If you cannot scan, click "Can't scan right now?" to copy the setup key manually.
- Your app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the field below the QR code.
- Click Verify & Enable.
Once completed, the status will show Active, and you will see the option to Remove if needed.
Recommended for: Maximum security
2. Enabling 2FA via SMS
If you prefer receiving verification codes by text message:
Steps:
- Go to Account Settings > Password & Security.
- In the SMS Authentication section, click Setup.
- Enter your phone number with country code.
- Click Send code.
- You'll receive a 6-digit SMS code. Enter it in the verification field.
- Click Verify & Enable.
If the number is valid and the code is correct, SMS authentication will be enabled.
Recommended for: Simple setup without additional apps
3. Logging In With 2FA Enabled
Every time you log in:
- Enter your email and password.
- You will be asked for a 6-digit 2FA code.
- If using an authenticator app: open your app and use the current code.
- If using SMS authentication: check the message sent to your phone.
Without this code, access will be denied for security reasons.
4. Removing or Changing Your 2FA Method
You can disable or switch authentication methods at any time:
- Go to Account Settings > Password & Security.
- Click Remove next to your current method.
- Add a new method following the steps above.
Important:
Always ensure you have access to your authentication app or phone number before removing a method.
