Managing contacts
Every conversation has a contact panel on the right with the contact's details, tags, links, notes, and shared files. This article shows how to use it.
Open any conversation and use the info button in the chat header to show or hide the panel.
Edit contact info
In a one-on-one conversation you can edit the contact name and email address, then click "Save". The phone number is shown for reference.
⚠️ If the email format is invalid, BatZap shows "Invalid email format" and will not save until it is corrected.
Tags
Add tags to a contact from the "Tags" section to categorize them (for example VIP, support, or billing).
Click the add button, pick an existing tag, and it appears as a colored chip. Remove a tag by clicking the x on its chip. To create or manage tags, see Organizing conversations with tags.
Links
Use the "Links" section to save useful links for a contact, such as a CRM record or an order page.
Add a link with a label and a URL. Saved links appear with their label and can be removed anytime.
Notes
The "Notes" section keeps private, team-only notes about the contact.
Notes show who wrote them and when, support basic formatting (bold, italic, strikethrough, links), and can include images. They are never visible to the contact.
Files and media
The "Files & Media" section gathers everything shared in the conversation, grouped by type (images, videos, audio, documents).
Click any item to preview it. Files are sorted newest first, so recent attachments are easy to find.
