Message templates

A message template wraps every outgoing message with standard text, such as a greeting before the message and a signature after it. It applies to your whole organization.

This is useful for adding consistent signatures, disclaimers, or context to everything your team sends.

How it works

A template has three parts:

  1. Text before the message: shown before what the agent types.
  2. The {{Message}} placeholder: the actual message each team member writes in the chat.
  3. Text after the message: shown after, optional.

Whatever an agent types in the chat replaces {{Message}} when the message is sent.

Set up your template

  1. Go to Settings → Message Templates.
  2. In the Template Editor, type your "before" and "after" text around the {{Message}} placeholder.
  3. Use the parameter buttons to insert dynamic fields where the cursor is.
  4. Check the Live Preview on the right to see how it will look in WhatsApp.
  5. Click "Save Template". Use "Reset" to clear the fields.

Available parameters

Insert these and BatZap fills them in automatically:

  • Contact Name: the contact you are messaging.
  • Assignee Name: the team member assigned to the conversation.
  • User Name: the team member sending the message.
  • Company Name: your organization name.

Formatting

Templates support WhatsApp formatting, including bold, italic, ~strikethrough~, lists, quotes, and inline code.

💡 The template applies automatically on send. Your team just types their message normally in the chat, and the before/after text is added for them.
